Lawson Albritton, 88, of Decatur died 4:15 p.m. Friday (April 28, 2000) in his residence.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday in Brint linger's Funeral Home with visitation 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur. Memorials may be made to DMH Hospice.

Mr. Albritton was born Dec. 24, 1911, in Tuscola, the son of Arthur and Nollie Mansfield Albritton. He married Ruth Kendall on Aug. 12, 1933. Mr. Albritton was a member of United Church of Christ, Tuscola. He was employed by A.E. Staley Mfg. Co. and retired after 42 years of service.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth of Decatur; daughter, Beverly Stroud and husband Clifford of Decatur; grandsons, Jim Stroud and wife Kay of Carterville; Jack Stroud and wife Yvonne of Decatur; great-grandsons, Nick and Zack; great-granddaughters, Melissa Wirick and husband James, Sara, Tristin and Ali Stroud; great-great-granddaughter, Kaylee; brother, James Albritton of Tuscola; sisters, Alma Hammond of Tuscola; Mary Piscopo of Sterling Heights, Mich.; Margaret Manley of Monroe, La.; Marcella Winkler of Tuscola; brother-in-law, Russell Hackett of Murdock.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Amos; sisters, Bernice Hackett and Eloise Hinton.
