Mary Adelia was the daughter of John Stanley Reid and John's first wife Julia Rebecca Kett. She was born on the family homestead in Sadowa, Ontario, Canada.

Mt. Jewett - Mrs. Mary A. Raymond, 89, of Hazel Hurst, died on Wednesday of last week in Warren General Hospital, where she had been a patient for three weeks.
The daughter of the late John and Susan Kett Reid was born Aug. 6, 1877, at Sadowa, Ont. She moved to the Hazel Hurst area with her parents when a child.
She was married first to Edward DeGolyer, who preceded her in death. Her second husband, Milton Raymond, whom she married in 1919, died in 1933.
Mrs. Raymond was a member of the Hazel Hurst Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Paul Ballard of Warren and Mrs. Paul Winner of Custer City; two sons, William DeGolyer of Gowanda, N.Y., and Fred DeGolyer of Hazel Hurst; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Julia Howard of Gowanda, N.Y., and Mrs. Margaret Symington of Orillia, Canada; a brother, David Reid of Gowanda, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was conducted last Friday by the Rev. Ralph H. Eckert pastor of the Hazel Hurst Methodist Church.
Interment was in the Kasson Cemetery.
