Added Comment: Cleaned Headstone of Cyrena. The headstone clearly shows an F. for the middle initial--Previously it as believed her middle name was "Ester", but a recent find in the Tennessee archives of a marriage certificate of Abner Beard with an Esther L. Nelson generates some speculation that Abner was married a third time. The time frame falls after the death of Cyrena in 1846 and his marriage to Mary Catherine Waits in the early 1860's. Any information on this matter would be appreciated. Headstone of Syrena Ester (Howell) Beard, who was first wife of Abner Hamilton Beard, Sr., Great-Great Grandfather of the Ed Beard generation. The grave is located in the Howell Cemetery (sometimes called the Big Butler Creek Community Cemetery) in Lauderdale, Pruitton, Alabama.
