Both Nola and Worth Dickey were longtime educators in the Alex Public School in Alex, OK. Worth was also the Alex School principal from 1961 through 1967.

Funeral service for Worth S. Dickey, 63, Alex, will be 1:30 pm Friday at the Alex High School Auditorium. Rev. Jim Carroll, pastor of the Alex United Methodist Church, will officiate. Mr. Dickey was born May 14, 1914, at Waurika. He died Wednesday in the Grady Memorial Hospital. He and Nola Burba were married on Sept. 30, 1939, in Comanche, Okla. Mr. Dickey taught school for 40 years, from 1936 until 1976, before retiring because of ill health. He taught at Claypool Consolidated School and Zanlee Consolidated School. He coached basketball for 71 years before he came to Alex. Mr. Dickey served as county superintendent of schools for one year (1947) in Jeffrson County. He was a grade school, junior and senior high school principal for 12 years at Alex. He was a member of the Lions Club, the OEA, the NEA and Secondary Principals Association. Survivors include, his wife, Nola, of the home; one son, David Dickey, Los Angles, Calif.; one granddaughter; four brothers, Roy Dickey, Chickasha, Paul Dickey, Ringling, Hollis Dickey and Earnest Dickey, both of Waurika; one sister, Mrs. Elaine Grace of Ringling. Interment will be in the Alex Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
