She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Fortwengler; daughter, Julia A. Grady, and sister, Rosemary Lano.
Survivors include two children, Richard Fortwengler, Jr. and his wife, Angela & Jane M. Ponton and her husband, Thomas; brother, Bill Lano; nine grandchildren.

Interment followed Mass of Christian Burial offered at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Clarksville, MD, Wednesday, December 3, 2008.
