Mrs. Belle Jones, 70, mother of Wynon and H.M. Shirey, Jr. of Olney died in the Olney hospital.

She was taken to the hospital and was apparently satisfactory until she suffered a heart attack. In a weakened condition from the first attack, she was stricken with another heart attack and died a few minutes later.

Mrs. Jones moved with her family to Quitman, Texas, when she was five years old. It was there that she was reared.

In 1896, she married Howard Monroe Shirey, who is deceased. To the union was born four children - Wynon and H.M. Shirey, Jr. of Olney, Ferrell E. of Greenville and another son who died in infancy in 1901.

In 1916, she married Arthur Jones and they moved to Olney in July 1936. Mr. Jones preceded her in death by several years.

A Christian since early childhood, Mrs. Jones was a member of the First Baptist church in Olney. Services were officiated by Rev. Cort H. Flint, her pastor. Kerbow Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Jones is survived by three grandson - Howard Monroe Shirey and David Thomas Shirey, both of Olney, Charles Wynon Shirey of Greenville.
