Military plaque from Spanish/American War. After lying about his age to get into the Army for the Spanish/American War, when he got to the Phillipines and was wading mud to his knees and dodging bullets, he promised himself he would NEVER lie again and he said he had done his best to keep that promise!
Affectionally called "The Mayor of Spraytown". He was born in Palestine, IN to Mr. & Mrs. Joseph W. Jackson and had one brother,James L. Jackson He ("Pop") married "Mom" in Columbus, IN, on September 23, 1908. He was loved by all. He is very much missed by all of us.
