John W. Chadd, Sr.
March 05, 1924 - April 17, 2010

John W. Chadd, Sr. 86, Milo, MO, passed away at his home on Saturday, April 17, 2010.

John was born on March 5, 1924 in Milo, MO, to Glen Jeremiah Chadd and Eva Blanche Slates Chadd.

He married Margaret J. Baker on February 14, 1947 in Ft. Scott Kansas and she preceded him in death in 2005.

John lived in the Milo area his entire life and attended the rural Phillips School.

He worked for the KATY Railroad for 13 years as a section hand. John farmed and raised cattle his entire life and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

John is survived by three sons, Glenn Chadd and wife Nettie of Milo, John Chadd, Jr. and wife Toni of Milo, and Larry Chadd and wife Shelly of Milo; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; one sister Margie Starlin of the state of Florida; and one brother Donald Chadd of Nevada.

In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents, son Gary Chadd, infant son Johnnie Lee Chadd, brothers Glen, Jr., George, and Carl Chadd, sister Louise Karr and great-granddaughter Marisa Jones.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at Ferry Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery, Milo, MO.

Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home and the family receives friends from 7-8:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
