Obituary Thursday, December 13, 1984 issue of the Leader, Corning, New York Bath - Douglas J. Bogardus, 52, of East William Street Extention, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 1984 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Elmira. Born Aug. 9, 1932 in Bath, he was the son of Claude and Louella Johnson Bogardus. He owned and operated Bogardus Drilling Company. He was a 1950 graduate of Haverling Central School, an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and a former Bath village policeman. He attended Alfred University. He was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, past commander of the American Legion, past master of the Masonic Lodge and past high priest of the Royal Arch Masons. He was past master of the Hornellsville Masonic Council, past member of the Knights Templer in Hornell, past president of the Cinderella League and past father-advisor of the Order of the Rainbow. He was former Scoutmaster and coached Little League and Midget Football. He is survived by his wife, Mary Larkin; his mother, Louella of Bath; five daughters, Loree, Lisa, Lou-Ann and Bridget, all at home and Mrs. John (Linda) Austin of Bath; one son, Michael, at home; one sister, Mona Ames of Leesburg, Fla.; one grandson and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Calling hours at Fagan's Funeral Home are today and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Masonic memorial service will be Friday at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, the Rev. Dennis Wienk officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Nondaga Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Bath Volunteer Ambulance Corps or the American Cancer Society. -------------------------
