He was born on Wednesday, April 13, 1921 to Gladys Mae McMannus and James Anderson and he died on Wednesday, October 25, 1989. His life began and ended on Wednesdays. He was the middle child in a family of an older brother James and a younger sister Mary. He married Mildred Briggs on December 23, 1939, who was literally the girl next door. He fought in WWII and participated in the Holland, Scillian and Itallian campaigns and endured the perial and cold of the Battle of The Bulge. If you watch the movie A Bridge Too Far, he also was involved in that as well and later remarked that it was a bridge too far. He had a life well lived, and was a joy to all who knew him. He and my grandmother adopted a son, Robin and had a biological daughter, Anita, in addition to that were four grandchildren Tessa, Kevin, Charles, and myself, and today if he had have lived would have enjoyed four great grandchildren Preston, Kaitlyn, Devon, and Kaylie. Unfortunately, he died at 68 from complications due to bone cancer, dying too early and leaving behind a family who will always miss him.

*Was awarded the Bronze Star and Silver Star for bravery in the Itallian, Scillian and Holland Campaigns.
