Alvin T Anderson, died at his home in Bridgewater township Saturday 19, 1959, following a lingering illness. Alvin Theodore Anderson, the son of Thomas and anna Dahlen Anderson, was born near Garvin in Lyons county on August 4, 1895. he attended the rural school and confirmed in Hoiland Lutheran church. At the age of fourteen, at the death of his father, he began running the family farm, and continued to farm all his life. He married to Anne Anderson at Marshall December 24, 1939 and they farmed near Tracy until 1935 when they moved to Dundas. After running the Empey farm for two years and the Cody farm, they settled permanently on their present farm just north of Dundas. Mr. Anderson was a member of St John Lutheran church of Northfield, and of the Dundas odd fellows lodge. Always a rebust jolly man, he had many friends. About three years ago his health began to decline, and he had been seriously ill all summer, having been confined to his bed the last two weeks. He is survived by his wife; a foster daughter Ms Janice Clarine; one niece and one nephew of Minneapolis. One brother Edward, preceded him in death three years ago. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Sept 22, at the Anderson mortuary in Northfield, with Pastor B.R.Blorn officiating. Organ music was played. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Brandt, Alfred Lundberg, Verne Babcock, Charley Butterfield, L.E. Alm and Fred Uley. The body was taken to Tracy where a service was held Wednesday afternoon. burial was in the Hoiland cemetery there. On Monday evening an Odd Fellows service was conducted at the mortuary.
