In this city, January 24, 1901, George H. Bell, aged 58 years, a native of New York. Geo. Bell was one of the best known citizens of this county, where he has held many important positions. He served as Postmaster for a number of years and he has since held clerical positions. George Bell was a member of Custer Post, G.A.R., having served in the Civil War. At the age of 17, he enlisted as a private in Company G, 52 Massachusetts volunteers. Discharged August 14, 1863. Length of service one year. The funeral will take place from the residence of Mrs. Rau at 1:30 pm Saturday.
