He married (Susan) Almeda "Meda" Cooley in Mt. Pleasant, Mi., on Apr. 17, 1886. Their first child Minnie was born there in 1888. The family settled on a farm in Cherry Grove Twp., Wexford Co., Mi., prior to 1890, where children Myrtle, George and Arthur were born. This 40 acre farm was across the road & kitty-corner to a brother's 40 & parents' 40 acre farms, which were in Clam Lake Twp., Wexford Co., MI. His occupations included farming and masonry. In about 1906-7 they owned a general store in Buckley, Mi., and soon thereafter built and occupied a home in Cadillac, Mi. near the hospital, where their Son George was undergoing long term treatment for the loss of a lung from a horse-riding accident.
George and Meda spent his remaining years on another farm near Manton, Mi. on the NW corner of N 39 & E 18 Rds. George was hospitalized & died at the Traverse City Mi., State Hospital in 1940.
