She was born September 6, 1923, in Bartley, Nebraska, to Joseph Ivan and Lenora Violet (Stanton) Capps.

She married Robert Edward Powers in April 1963 in Denver. He died May 3, 1974. She was a homemaker.

Survivors:
Son, Terry Long of Ligonier, Indiana
Son, Dennis Long of Commerce City, Colorado
Daughter, Londa Harter of Kirwin
7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren

Burial in Kirwin Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Arliss Powers Memorial Fund.

Arliss Azean Powers was born on September 6, 1923, in Bartley, Nebraska, to Joseph Ivan and Lenora Violet (Stanton) Capps. Arliss passed away on May 25, 2003, at the age of 79.

Arliss was united in marriage to Robert Powers in April of 1963. Robert passed away on May 3, 1974. She had three children, Londa L. Powers (1963), Terry D. Long (1943) and Dennis M. Long (1941). (Note: The latter two children are children of Arliss' and her first husband, Francis Morry Long (He was born May 31,1903, and died on May 8, 1992, in Boulder, Colorado.)

Preceding Arliss in death are her parents, her husband and eight brothers and sisters. Arliss is survived by her three children:
Dennis Long of Commerce City, Colorado
Terry Long of Ligonier, Indiana
Londa Harter of Kirwin;
her grandchildren: Jeanni Hunter and Sharlynn Harter; Brenda Gallagher; Rhonda Tindell; Shawn Long and Teri Shafer; a stepgrandchild, Wickie Ley and 11 great grandchildren.

Services were held on Thursday, May 29, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Kirwin Cemetery with Pastor Verle Clark officiating. A taped selection of Amazing Grace was played. Interment followed in the Kirwin Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arliss A. Powers Memorial Fund.
