Mrs. Minnie Low, who has been in ill health at her home for several months, met her death Friday night after being fatally burned in a fire at her home. She was taken to a hospital, but passed away before reaching there. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Phillipsburg, and burial was in the Kirwin cemetery beside her husband, Austin Low. The fire department succeeded in putting out the fire before much damage was done to the house.

Minnie Low, youngest daughter of George and Emily Sherwood, was born in Iowa county, Iowa, on September 20, 1877, and departed her life October 9, 1948, at the age of 71 years, 6 months, and 19 days.

When two years of age she came to Phillips county. She was baptized in the Solomon river, when church was being conducted in the Lone Star school. She was very active in her church work, always willing to lend a helping hand.

She was united in marriage to Austin F. Low July 17, 1901. He was a patient companion to her until his death on June 20, 1945.

She is survived by two nieces, Mrs. Della Hunziker and Mrs. Mary Smith, one nephew, G. W. Wisehart, and other relatives and many friends.

Interment was made in the Kirwin cemetery with Simmons-Olliff funeral directors.
