Viola Lucille Peay Evans, 86, passed away April 17, 2010 in Murray, Utah. Born October 1, 1923 in Provo, Utah the daughter of William Richard and Ida Melinda Grace Ferguson Peay.

She married Joseph William Evans April 1, 1940 in Salt Lake, their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on February 19, 1951. Mom was a great gardener and loved to share her crops with everyone. She was a great cook, homemaker, and loved to quilt.

Lucille was active in the LDS Church serving in many positions at both the ward and stake levels. Mom's home was a gathering point for all of our friends and family.

Survivors include: children V. Jolene (DeMont) Beckstead; Roy (Kathy) Evans; and Gary (Arlene) Evans; 25 grandchildren; 55 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, her parents, a son Dean, 3 grandchildren and 14 brothers and sisters.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Humanitarian Aid fund.

Funeral services will be held Thursday April 22, 2010 in the Anderson & Sons Mortuary Chapel, 49 East 100 North, Am. Fork, Utah, where friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 11:45 to 12:45 p.m. prior to the services.
