Obituary from The Lowry City Independent, Lowry City, St. Clair, MO, Thursday, Sept. 29, 1921:

Christian Breon

Christian Breon was born in Westmoreland county, Pennsylvania, December 9, 1844. With his parents he later moved to Des Moines county, Iowa, and later moved to Wapello county, in the same state, where he grew to manhood.
He was united in marriage with Polly A. Baker at Ottumwa, Iowa, November 12, 1867, and in the year of 1870, they moved to St. Clair County, Missouri, where both lived the remainder of their lives. To this union 6 children were born, 3 of whom preceded their parents to the home beyond: William H., George E., and Della May. Those surviving are: James A., of Arkansas City, Kansas; Mary A., of Kansas City, Missouri; and Charles E., of Lowry City, Missouri. The mother was laid to rest March 10, 1920, at the age of 78 years.
When a young man Mr. Breon was converted and joined the church, later becoming a charter member of the Lowry City Baptist church, in which organization he served as a deacon for a number of years.
He was a loyal defender of the Union in the Civil War, enlisted in Company K., 9th Iowa Cavalry.
For many years Mr. Breon and family lived on the farm just west of Lowry City, but in recent years he resided in town.
Just recently he left home for an extended trip, visiting his brothers, Philip, of Portis, Kansas; Charles, of Smith Center, Kansas; Frank, of Edmond, Kansas; Henry and Albert of Lamar, Colorado, where he also visited his son Elmer's father-in-law, Sam Raney; a sister, Mrs. Emma Roberts of Red Cloud, Nebraska; a niece, Pearl Arrington of Stratton, Colorado; two sisters-in-law, Louisa Craft of Ness City, Kansas, and Sarah Stilwell of Brighton, Colorado; returning home by way of Kansas City, where he was visiting at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ada Pittman at the time of his death by acute dilation of the heart, Wednesday, September 21, 1921, at the age of 77 years, 9 months and 12 days.
Short funeral services were held at Rose & Company's chapel at Kansas City, Thursday evening, September 22, a number of former Lowry City people attending.
Regular services were conducted at the Baptist church in Lowry City, his home town, at 2:15 o'clock, Friday afternoon, September 23, the Rev. J. M. Hawkins officiating, the services being attended by a host of the deceased's friends and former neighbors. The body was then laid to rest in the Breon cemetery just west of Lowry City.
