Alfred Randolph Craven was the son of John Wesley Craven, Jr. and Henrietta Reader (Johnson) Craven of Licking, Texas Co., MO. John Wesley Craven, Jr. #15946779 and wife Henrietta Reader (Johnson) Craven #15946789 are buried in the Licking Cemetery, Texas Co., MO.

Obituary--Dr. A. R. Craven--Ill about a week, Dr. A. R. Craven, 73 years old, died Wednesday night at 6:30 at his home 2725 Gorman. It was not believed that Dr. Craven's illness was serious, and his death was sudden, resulting from an attack of heart failure.
The funeral will take place some time Friday, the hour being held in a abeyance to await advices from a son, at present in another state.
Born in North Carolina, Dr. Craven had been a resident of Texas for the last 31 years. When he first came to this state he located in Elm Mott, where he remained until he removed to Waco, 15 years ago.
Dr. Craven was widely known throughout Central Texas. He belonged to the old school of medical practitioners, one whose ministrations of healing the sick had been exercised in many homes in McLennan County and throughout this immediate section of Texas. His skill and ability were given deserved recognition by his associates in the medical fraternity. Dr. Craven was a man innately good, the major portion of whose life had been devoted to the medical profession. His kindliness, hospitality, loyalty to his friends, his Southern courteous manner, his generosity were but a few of the many attribute in the make-up of Dr. Craven, so universally beloved and esteemed by all who came in contact with him, professionally and socially.
Dr. Craven was an earnest and sincere Christian, a member of the Methodist Church practically all of his life. His membership at the time of his death was in St. John's Methodist Church. He had been a member of the Masonic fraternity for about 40 years.
Surviving Dr. Craven are his wife, four sons, F. A. Craven, Waco; A. G. and Joe H. Craven, Waxahachie; S. A. Craven, Cleburne; three daughters, Mrs. T. A. Jenkins and Mrs. J. C. Webb, Waco; Mrs. C. R. Battaile, Cleburne; two brothers. Dr. B. F. Craven and J. A. Craven, Sr., both of Waco.
