Paul was a novelist and translator for Svtlana Aliluyeva. Born a Russian Prince he went to the U.S. in 1927. During WWII Paul served as a field director of the Red Cross and worked in Europe and Asia. As a novelist Paul wrote "The Judas Child" and "Family Album" which was a historical novel about the Crimean War. Active on the Cape Cod summer theatre scene, Paul's play "Russian Pond" was produced in 1955 at Orleans Arena Theatre.
