A homemaker/seamstress by choice, Elsie devoted most of her time to taking care of the men in her life, her husband and four sons. One of her favorite joys was having the whole family in and preparing her specialty--a roast beef dinner with homemade ketchup, fresh-picked sweet corn and mashed potatoes with egg gravy. Outside the home, she spent time as an assistant teacher at St. Leo's School as well as many years as a seamstress for diocesan bishops, priests and seminarians. In addition, Elsie worked several years as a dental secretary.
