Edna was married in Michigan to Walter. Here her only son David was born. She did practical nursing for many years. They lived on various farms and made some of the living from farming. For several years when David was small they lived on a farm one mile north of Hewitt, across the road from her brother Charles and his wife Eva. In 1946 they moved to Sheridan,Illinois, where Walter worked for New Idea Implement Company. After a stroke in 1950 he retired but was able to get around in a wheel chair. In 1955 they were living in Riverside, california, they moved back to Minnesota, then on to Sheridan, Illinois, where Walter died. After Walter's death and the death of her sister Flossie, Arvilla moved to Eagle Bend, Minnesota to care for Harold Dockham, her brother-in-law. They both died in an auto accident coming home from a visit to Flossie's grave.
