Mrs. Merle Garrard Lougee was born in Durham Co., the daughter of the late David and Emma Craig Garrard. She graduated from Durham High School in 1942 and was a secretary at Wrights Machinery during WWII. Mrs. Lougee was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and enjoyed her 12 years of volunteer work with Durham Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Lougee Jr. Mrs. Lougee was a devoted wife of 60 years, mother, grandmother, and a dear friend to all. The joys in her life were a love of music, dancing, animals, playing games and laughing with her closest friends, and especially her love for her family.
