Pearl Evans, 89, North Lewisburg, town marshal there for many years died wednesday at 10:45 at Union County Memorial Hospital.
Born September 27, 1879, at North Lewisburg, he was a son of Jacob and Mary (McCarty) Evans. He married Catharine May Dobbins. She passed away in 1925.
He Served as town marshal at North Lewisburg for a number of years and was active in community affairs.
Surviving are two sons, William Evans, Kenton, and Ralph Evans, north Lewisburg; four daughters, Mrs B. T. (Jenny) Colvin, Mrs Samuel (Carrie) Lewis, Urbana, Mrs Mildred Wetz, East Librty, Mrs Allen (Betty) Smith, Columbus; 18 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Four children are deceased.
