Mr. Holliday was the son of the late Floyd Earnest and Hazel Viola Carroll Holliday. James retired in 2004 from the city of Dalton after 32 years.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Lisa Holliday and John and Tonjia Holliday; mother of his children, Shirley Diane Holliday Mitchell.
Sister and brother-in-law, Patricia Ann and Bill Wood; grandchildren, Kayla Leigha, Kristy Holliday and Kara Holliday Cochran, Brittani and Storm Curl, Kristian Hughes, great-grandchildren, Brayden and Hailey Hughes and Jayden Curl.
Services were at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald Guffey officiating. He was laid to rest in the Swamp Creek Cemetery.
