Mrs. Louisa N. Chambers, 78, died at her home in Silver City, Friday, Oct. 17. She had lived in Grant County for 60 years. Grandma Chambers, as she was familiarly known to Silver City residents, was born on a ranch in Texas and came to this area as a young girl. Surviving her are a brother, W. Stockman of Modesto Ca; two sons, Earl of Las Vegas, and Robert of Silver City; and a sister, Mrs. Catherine Harrison of Silver City. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Hinman's Mortuary with the Rev. David Holt officiating. Burial was in the City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert Chambers, Arthur Harrison, Bernard Harrison, John Harrison and Ernest Nichols.
Louisa Naomi Stockman Chambers is the daughter of Young Hardy Stockman and Rebecca Billings Stockman.
She married Samuel Houston Chambers.
