John Martin Anderson was born in Sweden, March 7, 1863. He was united in marriage to Mary Nelson in Minneapolis, to which union eight children were born: Robert, of Cozy Corners; (Mabel) Mrs. Aime Dion of St Paul; (Millie) Mrs. Hjalmer Hedlund of St Paul: (Meda) Mrs. Ben Danielson of Minneapolis; Aldin, of cozy Corners; (Myrtle) Mrs. Olaf Holton of Minneapolis; Albin of St Paul; and (Amanda) Mrs. Olaf Tornes of Minneapolis.

Mr. Anderson passed away at Superior, August 8, 1950, aged 87 years, five months and one day. Mrs. Anderson preceded her husband in death 38 years ago.

They came to Burnett County in 1895 where they lived on a homestead for 30 years. He resided at Cozy corners for the past 25 years. He is survived by his eight children; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Morten of Minneapolis; one sister (Emily) Mrs. Henry Carlson, Chisago City and one sister, Selma, in Sweden.

Funeral services were held at The Lutheran church at Webster, Saturday August 12 at 1:30 pm with Rev. G.M. Thimell of Minneapolis officiating. Ruth and Nolan Johnson sang three hymns "Abide with me", "Under His Wing" and "Beyond the Sunset", with Joan Johnson at the piano. Pallbearers were six grandsons. The many floral tributes and large attendance were a testimonial to the many friends he had made through the many years he resided in this section. Interment was beside his wife in Karlsborg cemetery, the Swedberg Funeral home was in Charge
