MISS FANNIE GILLISPIE
Miss Fannie Gillispie, a highly respected and well known lady who was sixty-two years old, died at her home east of this city Saturday morning following a brief illness. Last Thursday Miss Gillispie was stricken with paralysis which affected her left side. She was the youngest daughter rof the late Mr. and Mrs. Alex Gillispie, who, coming here from Kentucky in an early day, were among the pioneers of Marion County. Her death occurred on the farm on which she was born. She was known to be a lady of most estimable character, kind and unassuming and it is but natural that she had a host of friends in that comunity. Surviving her are two brothers and three sisters, William Gillispie, of Kansas City, Mo.; Thomas Gillispie, of Springfield, Mo.; Mrs. M. P. Gillispie, of this city; Mrs. J. P. Drummond, of this city; and Mrs. J. P. Holland of near Hannibal and Miss Zenobia Gillispie, who lived with her sister on the farm. Miss Julia Barkley, who made her home during the past few years with the Misses Gillispie, is a niece. Miss Gillispie was a loyal and faithful member of the Christian church.
The funeral was conducted at her late home yesterday afternoon at two o'clock, by Rev. Armstrong, pastor of the First Chrisitan Church at Hannibal. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
