Emma Correa, 91, a resident of Bayard, NM entered eternal rest Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Silver City Care Center. She was born October 6, 1918 to Juan T. and Juanita (Duran) Cordova in Hurley, NM. Emma enjoyed gardening. She had roses of every color. She had more marigolds than you could count. She had orchids that were supposed to only give one blossom. She had such a green thumb that they would produce three. She liked to spend quiet time reading magazines and novels. She made it a daily habit to keep up with all of the current events by watching the news. Her favorite thing was being a homemaker. She loved spending time with all of her family. She was always busy cooking tortillas or hamburgers for someone. She is survived by one son, Willie Correa (Karen) of Santa Clara; one daughter, Mary Lopez of Bayard; nine grandchildren, Liana, Kenneth, Siah, Debbie, Jason, Carlos, Steve, Chico and Yvonne; fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guillermo Correa; her parents, one son, Richard Correa; one daughter, Pat Baca; three brothers, Daniel Cordova, Henry and Jimmy Cordova; two sisters, Mary and Stella Cordova. A graveside service will be Wednesday, April 14th at 2pm at Fort Bayard National Cemetery. Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory.
