KANNAPOLIS - Louise Bost Settlemeyer, 83, of Kannapolis died Sunday April 11, 2010, at Best Of Care in Kannapolis.

She was born Jan. 14, 1927 in Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late Reuben Everette Bost and Lillie Mae Dry Bost.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Baxter Settlemeyer, her sister, Hazel Carlton and her brother, Derwood Bost. She was a Librarian at the Cannon Memorial YMCA in Kannapolis for many years and then at the Kannapolis/Cabarrus County library. She was a member of Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church where she had been a former Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the N.C. Retired Teachers Association.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 2010, at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Richard Rhoades.

Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Whitley's.

She is survived by three sons, Charles Phillip Settlemeyer, David Baxter Settlemeyer and Paul Franklin Settlemeyer; two sisters Catherine Barrier and Linda Naborsl; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Home Instead Senior Care, Best of Care, Hospice of Cabarrus County and all her church family and friends for all the love, time, visits, calls and care that they have shown Louise and her family.
