Central Baptist member. Lina Elaine Humfleet Meadows, 77, of 103 Packer Road, died at 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, 1995, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Mrs. Meadows was a homemaker and member of Central Baptist Church in Oak Ridge. She was born September 26, 1917, in Middlesboro, KY, the daughter of G.J. Humfleet and Lora May Powell Humfleet. She had been a resident of Oak Ridge for the past 36 years, moving here from Somerset, KY. Mrs. Meadows was a member of the Oak Ridge Woman's Club. According to a daughter, she was considered an excellent seamstress and loved poetry. She and her husband, James O. Meadows, by whom she is survived, were married in Kentucky. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Meadows is survived by five daughters and three sons-in-law: Emily and Walter Blake of Elyria, OH; Amy and Doyle Cole of Powell; Joan Slynn of Sunman, IN; Sue and John Rupf of Atlanta, GA; and Carol Teague of Oak Ridge; and two sisters: Dorothy Fay Biggerstaff of Middlesboro and Carol England of Oak Ridge. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren: Michael Rupf, James Slynn, Scott Jones, Bruce Cole, Douglas Cole, David Blake, Lisa Elliott, Marcia Freels, Marjorie Pleasant, Amy James, Linda Pfingsten, Susan Sullivan, Lara Little, and Holly Yurchison; and by 18 great-grandchildren. A sister, Lois Humfleet, and two brothers, Clarence Humfleet and Leon Hemfleet, died earlier. The funeral will be at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Jerry Mantooth officiating. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, at Anderson Memorial Gardens on Highway 61 in the Marlow community. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
