Obituary:
Otis J. Fleming, of near Saltillo, died in the J.C. Blair Memorial hospital at 9:10 o'clock Thursday morning, November 28, 1940. He had been a patient in the hospital for the past three weeks. A son of Harper and Rebecca (Miller) Fleming, he was born near Shade Gap on March 8, 1879, being aged at the time of death 61 years, eight months and twenty days. On October 2, 1924, he was united in marriage with Elizabeth Long at the _B. parsonage in Three Springs by the Rev. Mr. Willie. Mr. Fleming had been employed by the East Broad Top Railroad and Coal company for more than thirty years. Practically all his life was spent in Saltillo and vicinity. He was an especially kind neighbor and friend, always willing to help where needed. Surviving are his wife, his aged mother and these brothers and sisters: Harry Fleming, of Philadelphia; Carl Fleming, of Saltillo; Catherine, Mrs. William J. Young, of Altoona, and Vera, Mrs. Charles G. Zimmerman, of Atlantic City, N.J. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon, with prayer at the home at 12:45., followed by services in the Fairview church at 1:30 in charge of the pastor, the Rev. J.S. Eminhizer. Interment will be made in the Saltillo cemetery, directed by Green's funeral service. Friends may call at the Fleming home in Saltillo anytime until 9 o'clock Saturday morning, at which time the body will be taken to his late home, near Fairview, where it may be viewed until the hour of service.
