Doris W. Van Meter, age 76, passed away December 12, 2009 at First Community Village. She was born October 29, 1933 and is the daughter of the late Earl D. and Eliza Jane Hunt of Mason County, WV. Survived by daughter, Brenda (Gene) Chaffin of Hamburg, NY; son, Richard (Julie) Van Meter of Carroll, OH; former husband, George D. Van Meter of Columbus, OH; sisters, Dorothy Stover of Pt. Pleasant, WV, Ann (Jack) Bibb of Columbus, OH, Jean Bennett of Grafton, WV;

grandchildren, Donald (Nicole) Chaffin of Palmyra, NY, Scott (Kristy) Chaffin of Dublin, OH, Angela (Robert) Benfield of Tampa, FL, Bryan Barnes, Emily Barnes and Alex Van Meter of Carroll, OH; great grandchildren, Andrew, Elijah, and Maddison Chaffin of Dublin, OH, Kayla and Ty Chaffin of Palmyra, NY; many nieces, nephews; great nieces and nephews; a host of friends from First Community Village including Mary, Betty, Esther, Misty and many others.

Friends may call at the O.R. WOODYARD CO. CHAPEL, 1346 S. High St., Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where funeral will be held Wednesday 10 a.m. Pastor Bill Lavely officiating. Interment will follow at the Creston Cemetery, Evans, WV.
