Fred Shoemaker passed away at 3:00 Tuesday afternoon after a two weeks' siege of pneumonia, following influenza, at his home on South Water Street. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 this afternoon from the home, Rev. W. F. Tomlinson officiating and interment will be made in the Angelo Cemetery.

He was born in West Salem in 1887, and lived there until 1908, when he located in Sparta. On November 21, 1914, he was married to Miss Rectina McCoy of this city. They lived in Norwalk one winter, but located in Sparta again in the spring.

Deceased is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orlo Shoemaker, his wife and two children, three sisters, Anna and Eva, both Sparta residents, and May of Oregon; five brothers, John of North La Crosse, Alvin and three small brothers of Sparta.
