Woodrow W. Bertz Sr.
Casper - Services for Woodrow W. Bertz Sr., 85, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Bustard's Funeral Home by the Rev. Alastair C. Parr of the First Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery.
He died Feb. 6, 1998, at Wyoming Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 30, 1912, on a farm in Lexington, Mo., the son of Edward and Margaret (Small) Bertz.
In April 1933, he married Margaret Harlow, and she preceded him in death in February 1985. He worked for Service Pipeline Gas and Oil from 1933-57. He then co-owned and operated Bertz General Construction from 1962-76, when he retired and began to travel to California and Wyoming. He settled in Riverton for a time, then moved to Casper in 1995.
He loved to travel, fish, camp, rock-hunt and golf. He was a past member of Elks Lodge No. 1353.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, two sisters, two grandsons and a granddaughter.
Survivors include a son and his wife of Casper; a sister, Grace Perry of Blue Springs, Mo.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Flowers or memorials to the American Cancer Society would be equally appreciated by the family.
