When just three weeks old her family moved by covered wagon from Missouri to Texas. Her father, Columbus Moore, was a teacher, farmer, and Confederate (CSA) Veteran of the Civil War. Her mother was named Cleopatra and so Jessie was given this as her middle name. Interesting names her parents had!
