Don was a graduate of Frankton High School-Class of 1939. Don was a veteran of World War II having served with the United States Army. He was a rural mail carrier with US Postal Service for 26 years retiring in 1979 and farmed in the area for several years. He was a member of the Frankton Christian Church, the Madison County Farm Bureau and a former member of both the Alexandria Lions Club and the Frankton Lions Club. Don has raised and raced standardbred horses for several years. He was a member of the United States Trotting Association (USTA) and the Indiana Standardbred Association (ISA).

Interment: Burial will follow in the K of P-IOOF Cemetery in Frankton with military honors provided by Elwood VFW-Post 5782
Visitation: Friends may call at the Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria on Tuesday from 4 pm to 8 pm
