Funeral services for Alice Aaker will be at 2:30 p.m Friday, July 27, at Hartquist Funeral Home - Engebretson Chapel in Luverne. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne. Visitation begins one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Alice G. Aaker, 73, Hills, formerly of Luverne, died Saturday, July 21, 2007, at Tuff Memorial Home in Hills.

Alice G. Jenson was born to John and Jessie Jenson on Nov. 4, 1933, in Luverne. She was raised on the family farm and attended country school. Following her education she lived and helped on the family farm.

She married Marvin Aaker on June 19, 1955, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Luverne. Following their marriage they lived on a farm south of Luverne. In 1985 the couple stopped farming but remained living on the acreage. In 1995 the couple moved to Luverne, where they lived until October 2002 when they moved to Tuff Memorial Home in Hills. Mr. Aaker died July 30, 2004. She continued to live at Tuff.

Mrs. Aaker was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Luverne. She enjoyed dancing, listening to church hymns and taking care of animals on the farm. She also enjoyed traveling and polka music performances. She loved her cats on the farm.

Survivors include one sister, Eleanor Hartog, Rochester; one niece Barb (Roger) Van Batavia, Hills; five nephews, Kevin (Mary) Aaker, Luverne, Gary (Eileen) Hartog, Mount Horeb, Wis., Steve Hartog, Rochester, Dennis Hartog, Ft. Myers. Fla., and Roger Hartog, Portland, Ore.; and other family.

Mrs. Aaker was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Marvin, and two brothers-in-law, George Hartog and Russell Aaker.

Hartquist Funeral Home - Engebretson Chapel, Luverne, was in charge of arrangements.
