Mrs. Hartman was born April 12, 1895, near Waynesboro, the son of the late John H. and Anna M. Brindle Hartman. He was a member of Antrim Brethren in Christ church near Greencastle. A retired farmer, he last was employed as caretaker at Browns Mill Cemetery, Kauffman Station.
Surviving are his widow Anna Jane Crider Hartman; two daughters: Mrs. Daniel (Pearl) Antinozzi, Arlington, Va., and Mrs. Junior (Dorothy) Tosten, Greencastle; a foster daughter, Mrs. Harold (Frances) Rotz, R.R. 2 ; six grandchildren; two sisters and a brother: Mrs. Anna Stamy, R.R. 6; Mrs. Fred (Vertie) Fogelsanger, Chambersburg; and Gideon T. Hartman, R.R. 1, Greencastle.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Antrim Brethren in Christ Church, in charge of Rev. Wilbur Benner. Burial will be in Brown's Mill Cemetery, Kauffman Station. Friends may call at Minnich-Miller Funeral Home, Greencastle, from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and at the church one hour before the service Thursday.
