Steven Austin Wilkins passed away on April 13, 2010 at his home.


He was born May 22, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah to William Austin Wilkins and Florence Burton Wilkins, the eldest of three children.


He married Patricia Goates on May 24, 1958 and that marriage was solemnized in the LDS Temple on their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. They had two sons, William Casey Wilkins and Steven Kelly Wilkins.


Steve attended Granite High School, Olympus High School, and the University of Utah. He went to work for Wheeler Machinery in 1957, where he traveled for over thirty years selling Caterpillar tractor products in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Nevada. He continued to work at Wheeler until his retirement in 2000.


Steve was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings. . . Elders Quorum Presidency, High Priest Group Leader, Bishoprics, Ward Clerk, and many others. Steve always had a great love for the State of Utah. He enjoyed skiing, boating, motorcycle riding, and was also a Porsche enthusiast.


He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, his two sons, Casey and Kelly, his sister JoAnn Penrose (Lowell), his brother Larry Wilkins (Judith), and many nieces and nephews.


A viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2010 at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, Utah. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2010 in the Little Cottonwood Fifth Ward Chapel, 6350 South Rodeo Lane (1545 East), Murray, Utah, where friends may call from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
Interment will be in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, Utah.
