Paul (Hypolite I was told means the same as Paul) is the son of Hyppolite or Polycarpe Paul Curwick and his second wife Susien or Susan Belgarde. Susien is (according to family lore) a full blooded Potawattomie Indian. Paul married Mina Matthews (Mathieus) in Cloud County, Kansas in 1890 according to his obituary. They had 12 children.
