SELINA FREEMAN, daughter of unknown parents, was born 28 August 1813 in Kentucky. (Source: Marilyn Shields) She married circa 1835 in Montgomery County, Ohio to (1) Thomas Boyd, a widower. (Marilyn Shields) Their marriage date appears to be 19 April 1836 in Preble County, Ohio records, although other dates are also given by researchers, Short & Bowers, as 5 May 1834 and another researcher as 1 May 1836) . However, soon after their brief marriage, Thomas Boyd died in 1836, and soon after Patrick Shields, a widower, auctioneered Thomas Boyd's estate. (Source: Carolyn Frazee)

Before all was settled, Patrick married Selina (Freeman) Boyd-Shields (Marriage record names her as "Selina Boyd") on 19 April 1836 in Lexington, Preble County, Ohio as his second wife. (Source: Carolyn Frazee) They were married by Samuel Robertson J. P. . (Short & Bowers) Patrick Shields, s/o Daniel & Mary (???)
