Cecil Joseph Bader, 89, Canton, died February 26 in Blessing Hospital, Quincy, Ill. Born August 5, 1910, near Canton he was the son of David J. and Nellie Logsdon Bader. He married Nellie B. Shuman June 17, 1935 at St. Patrick, Mo. She died June 13, 1996. Mr. Bader had been a farmer and worked in the construction business until his retirement. He was of the Catholic Faith. After his marriage, he and his wife moved to Port Orchard, Wash. They moved back to Williamstown in 1971 and then to Quincy, Ill. in 1981. After Mrs. Bader passed away, he spent time in Canton and Port Orchard. He is survived by nieces and nepehws and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters, and one brother. Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 19 at the Shrine of St. Patrick Catholic Church in St. Patrick, Mo. with the Rev. James Wheeler officiating. Visitation was Monday, February 28 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home in Canton. A prayer service was held at 7:30 p.m. Interment was in the St. Patrick Cemetery. Music was by Marie Brennan. Pallbearers were Keith Wheeler, Brad Legg, Steve Jarvis, Kirk Brown, Christopher Lair, and Nathan Lair. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick Cemetery and left with Davis Funeral Home in Canton.
