John F. Falls

John F. Falls, 91, of Route 2, Lawndale, died Wednesday at his home after a number of years of declining health. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. Z. Falls, and was a retired farmer. He was a large land owner in that area.

Funeral rites were conducted Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Cline Borders officiating. Interment was in St. Peter’s Methodist Church.

First married to Mrs. Irene Costner Falls who died Sept. 1, .1947, he is survived by his second wife, Mrs. June Wright Falls; six sons, F. S. Falls of Morganton, Odus Falls, John Falls Jr. and W. E. Falls, all of Route 2, Lawndale, Cline Falls of Route 3, Lawndale and Ambrose Falls of Route 4, Shelby; four daughters, Mrs. Lula Mae Borders of Route 2, Lawndale, Mrs. Odus Royster of Route 3, Lawndale, Mrs. Vangie Mincey of Hillsboro and Mrs. Gleason Hamrick of Route 4, Shelby; a brother, B. T. Falls of Shelby; three sisters, Mrs. Clarence Warllck and Mrs. G. M. Edwards of Route 1, Lawndale and Mrs. Herbert Borders of Shelby; 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
