F.C. APPLEGATE DIES IN HOSPITAL
Frank C. Applegate, 77, of 216 W. South St., a retired Shelby County farmer, died at 3:10 a.m. today at the Rushville hospital. He had been in failing health for a year and a half.
Services will be held at the Ewing Mortuary at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery [Shelby County]. Friends will be received at the mortuary after 2:00 p.m. Thursday.
Mr. Applegate was born in Danville, Ill., Aug. 23, 1885, the son of Thomas and Nancy (Hillman) Applegate. In December of 1917, he was married to Grace Hendrickson, who survives with six children.
They are: Merrill A. Applegate of R.R.5, Francis and Harold A. Applegate of Shelbyville, Benny Applegate of Greenfield, Mrs. Rose Marie Scudder of Shelbyville, and Mrs. Milly McColley of R.R.3.
Also surviving are a brother, Fermine Applegate of Fortville, 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
