Clement Adkisson Sydnor was born at "Old Comfort" in Halifax, Virginia, June 1, 1874. He graduated from Hampden Sydney College in 1895, then spent most of his life as an educator. He was Christian blessed with a strong faith, and he and his chosen wife Rochet Venable Raine, reared 12 children as Presbyterians. They settled in Lynchburg after some years, and many of his descendants live there to this day. Clem was a fine man, still remembered and missed by family, church, former students, school and community.
