A prayer service for Mrs. Leona Runnells Meadows, 68, wife of E. A. "Deacon" Meadows and resident of 136 Sewanee Drive, will be conducted Thursday at 12 - noon from Wright and Ferguson Chapel, with Rev. Bill Causey, her pastor, and Rev. Tommy Mize, pastor of Sharon Baptist Church, officiating.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday from Goodwater Baptist Church, near Magee, with Rev. Causey and Rev. Mize officiating. Her body will be at the church for one hour before the service.
Mrs. Meadows died unexpectedly about noon Tuesday at St .Dominic Hospital.
A native and former longtime resident of Magee, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Callie Byrd Runnels, and had lived in Jackson since 1935.
She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church.
Her survivors are her husband; one son, Eddie H. Lee of Jackson; two daughters, Mrs. W. H. Whittington of Laurel, and Mrs. R. E. Allen of Jackson; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Willie P. Johnson of Laurel, Mrs. J. D. Deaux and Mrs. A. B. White, both of Jacksonville, Florida; and two brothers. Prentiss Runnells, also of Jacksonville, and Arender Runnels of Ellisville.
Interment will be in the Goodwater Baptist Church Cemetery.
