Burton D. Berglund, 72, Rockford, died Thurs., April 24, 2003, in SwedishAmerican Hospital. Burn July 10, 1930 in Rockford, the son of Hjalmer and Myrtle Johnson Berglund. Married Greta Whittaker Jan. 26, 1957, in Rockford. He was employed as a design engineer for more than 25 years at Sundstrand Machine Tool in Belvidere before retiring. Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the SCARWAF Unit during the Korean War. Burton was very active at Temple Baptist Church, former elder, served as an usher, and was a member of the building and grounds committee. Burton loved the outdoors, yard work and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Greta; son, Alan Berglund; daughter, Julie (Jay) Duthler; two grandsons; brother, Charles E. (Dorene) Berglund; sisters, Katie (Len) Rathfon and Carolyn Crawford. Predeceased by parents.
