Calvin enlisted with the rank of Private in White's Brigade, CSA on August 13, 1861 and was promoted to rank of Corporal. He was injured on September 19, 1863 at Marietta Georgia. He served in Company I, 10th Infantry regiment at the battle of Chicamauga near Chattanooga, TN. He was last on the muster roll between March - April 1864. On August 20, 1864, he received pay for service in Columbia, South Carolina.

Son of Abel and Susan Musselwhite Foxworth. Calvin married Almarine Eaddy on October 28, 1869.

Mr. Calvin Foxworth, an old and highly respected citizen of the Savage section of this county, died suddenly of heart failure at his home yesterday morning. He was feeling badly when he arose in the morning and shortly after getting up, fell to the floor dead.
