Son of Julius Jackson & Celinda (Lyles) Cole Sr. Died at the Benton County Poor Farm. Buried, unmarked, in the Benton County Poor Farm Cemetery. The Cemetery is unused now, & is in a patch of woods on the grounds of the Benton County Country Club.

Robert married Edie Elizabeth "Bettie" Gennett, daughter of Robinson & Nancy (Anderson) Gennett, on 23 Apr 1871, in Benton County, Tennessee. This marriage was blessed with 3 children: Cassie Green, Minnie Isabelle, & Julius Albert.

Robert married Martha Josephine "Josie" Melton, daughter of John Riley & Martha (Cooper) Melton, on 25 Sep 1892, in Carroll County, Tennessee. This marriage was blessed with 3 children: Vernie Lester, Pearley Homer, & Dottie Lavergne.
