RALPH BATES--67: died Tuesday [9-16] at his residence in Erie. He was born 7 Sep 1913 in Williamsfld, a son of Vincent & Mary Johnson Bates. He lived in Erie most of his life. He was a barber, working at Tonys Barber Shop. He was a veteran of WW-II. He was also a mem-ber of American Legion Post-11.
Survivors include his widow Alice, 7 children: Ronald-Sheakleyville; Clair, Jack & Richard-all Erie; Barbara Boeck-CA; Shirley Smith-OH & Kathy Bates-Erie; step-daus: Bernice Santana -PuertoRico & Rose Cruz-Erie; a bro: Raymond Bates-Greenvl; a sis: Irene Wilson-Greenvl; 17 grandchildren & a gr grandchild.
Service will be held Saturday [9-20] at Samuel Schweikert Funeral Home. Burial will be at Park Lawn Cem.
